In yoga theory, Anandamaya kosha is the name of the fifth of the body’s five layers, or sheaths. These layers are called pancha kosha as a whole. A in Sanskrit means “bliss” and a kosha means “sheath.”

This is the bliss body, also known as the happiness sheath. It is the most spiritual or subtle of the five layers of the body because it is buried deep.

It is said that the anandamaya kosha is in all of the outer sheaths, but yogis think that you can’t see it until you peel off the lies of the outer sheaths. Anandamaya kosha is the yogi’s real self, which is what’s behind all the lies. [1]
