3- Choose the Right Yoga Teacher Training Program (YTT)
Choosing the right Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) program is an essential part of becoming a yoga instructor. Minimum Requirement is Usually a 200-hour YTT.
When choosing a program, verify that it is accredited by the Yoga Alliance (the most nationally recognized certification agency).
Find programs with real teaching experience and education in anatomy, philosophy, and alignment.
From my experience, I would recommend looking out for those training programs that match your yoga style & values.
4- Attain Yoga Alliance Certification
Having accomplished your YTT, the next phase will be the need to be certified as a yoga instructor. After a successful certification, one may register with the Yoga Alliance.
While completing RYT requirements helps you climb and fight for your place in the teaching market, it is also a plus on your profile as it earns you RYT hence Registered Yoga Teacher.
As a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), you show that you are committed to maintaining and practicing a high standard of teaching.
5- Commence Yoga Instruction
It is time to get onto the mat and teach. So get that experience by offering free classes first to your friends and relatives.
This is where most yoga teachers start as well; with yoga classes in some gym, studio, or community center.
Do not forget the possibility of teaching yoga online classes too. In my opinion, it has been advantageous to explore and grow in different circumstances, as one can adjust and improve as a teacher.
